Design refinement for startups that are ready to be taken seriously.

The content is right.
The craft is missing.
People decide whether to trust you in seconds, before they read a single word of what you wrote.
AI tools gave you the same type, the same spacing, the same layout defaults as everyone else shipping this month.
The last 20% — hierarchy, rhythm, restraint, the details within the details is what separates “built” from “designed”.
You don't need a redesign. You need the version that feels like someone cared about every pixel.
AI can get a real product live in a weekend, and it gets it to an OK level. However users can’t always tell what’s off, but they feel it, and they decide fast. A trained eye closing that gap is the difference between looking built and looking designed.

If I think a FinalPass is the right move, you're in. If it needs more than polish, I'll say so and point you somewhere else.
Type, spacing, hierarchy, colour, motion fine tuned by me. Your content and structure stay, I add taste and craft.
Every week, ambitious startups launch websites built with AI.
Most are surprisingly good.
They communicate the product, tell the story, and get a company to market faster than ever before. But they’re often missing the things that are hardest to prompt for: visual hierarchy, consistency, restraint, personality and the countless small decisions that shape how a company feels.
The difference between good enough and exceptional isn’t another prompt. It’s experienced design judgement and restraint.
That’s where FinalPass comes in.
I embrace AI for what it does best, speed, exploration and execution. Then I apply the one thing it can’t replicate: human taste. Refining what’s already there until it feels considered, confident and ready for the next stage of growth.
I’m Aaron, a brand and web designer who’s spent the last decade embedded inside ambitious B2B startups, refining the brands and websites they use to launch products, raise funding and earn customer trust. I’ve watched AI transform how websites get made. It’s completely changed how startups build websites.
But I’ve also learned that the final 20%, the judgement, restraint and taste that make something feel genuinely great, still belongs to people.
FinalPass is where I focus all of that experience.

“Just because we can do everything now, doesn’t mean we should.”
You apply with a short description of what you’ve built and where you want it to go. If it’s a good fit, I review your site and deliver a single, focused pass — refining type, spacing, hierarchy, colour and motion until the whole thing feels considered and intentional. Your content and structure stay. I add the craft.
Yes. FinalPass is purely design refinement. The visual details that separate something that works from something that feels great. I don’t write copy, but if a line feels generic, unclear or off-brand, I’ll refine it as part of the pass.
If you’ve got a live site (or one that’s close to launch) and it communicates the right things but doesn’t quite feel polished, you’re exactly who this is for. Startups that have built with AI tools and want a trained eye to close the last gap tend to get the most from a FinalPass.
I’ll say so. Not every project is a fit for a single refinement pass — some need a rethink of structure, messaging or brand foundations first. If that’s the case, I’ll be honest about it during the review stage and point you toward the right kind of help.
FinalPass is a fixed-fee engagement. The exact price depends on the scope of refinement needed, but you’ll know the cost before any work begins. No hourly billing, no scope creep, no surprises. Apply and I’ll share pricing once I’ve reviewed your site.
A traditional design engagement often starts with discovery, new directions and a broader scope. FinalPass starts later. The foundations already exist; the job is to make focused, experienced decisions quickly.
Because a FinalPass only works when the foundations are solid. If a site needs a content overhaul, a brand rethink or significant structural changes, a refinement pass won’t get you where you need to be. I’d rather be honest about that than take your money for the wrong kind of work.
